WHAT? HelsinkiPhotos.fi is an online service that offers a comprehensive selection of photos from Helsinki, dating all the way back to the 1800s. The digitalised pictures from the collections of the Helsinki City Museum are also freely available for download. The library of images at Helsinki Photos is being supplemented continuously, so don’t forget to check in frequently.
WHO? For everyone with an interest in Helsinki and its history. Travel back in time by browsing through thousands of images from days gone by.
WHY? The HelsinkiPhotos online service has over 65,000 pictures that are in the public domain. This means that the images can be used freely as illustrations, wall hangings or website content, for example. It is also possible to download printable images to your computer or order paid prints of the images directly from the website.
